EREP provides opportunities for permanent basic literacy and numeracy to children and adults in Western Wollega, Ethiopia.
To establish one-room schools in villages currently without schools
To apply the standard curriculum used in the Oromia Region to the multi-grade/multi-level activity-based learning modality developed by the Rishi Valley Institute for Educational Research (RIVER) in India
To teach kindergarten through the first four years (K-4) of the Oromia curriculum to children and interested adults
To provide a gender equitable educational opportunity to the children of the villages
To provide an inclusive educational opportunity to the children and adults of the villages regardless of religion or ethnicity
To encourage women of the villages to study the curriculum
To establish school gardens that will serve as environmental learning laboratories for the school children and the villages
To encourage land reclamation by school children and villagers on a continuing basis
To encourage and assist existing schools to adopt the EREP curriculum and methodology
