Bringing basic education to rural Ethiopia

EREP partners in Ethiopia, India and the United States bring activity based learning in multi-grade/multi-level schools to western Oromia Region, focusing on the area near Dembi Dolo in Western Wollega. Although more than 130 schools existed in the area in the mid-1900s, virtually all of them were destroyed in the 1980s-1990s. Thus, more than a generation of the local population has had inadequate access to basic education, and it is this void that EREP hopes to fill.  See: December 2007 Update
